The One
“The One began when Joe Ryan (currently session drumming for Heartbreak and a member of Thee Fair Ohs and previously Ebony Bones) heard Emeson Nwolie (singer-songwriter,producer, dj & remixer) singing over a record in a club and introduced himself. After a returned call some months later the two became a whisky guzzling and fried chicken consuming writing and production team. Drawing influence from a mutual love of 80s electro/soul and fusing it with elements from electronica and new wave bands like Killing Joke, Gus Gus,Skinny Puppy, Kate Bush to name but a few, The One have carved a sound that is both dark and catchy; a sort of futuristic electro/ soul. Keen to perform this music, friends Sam Ryan (Serious Lover) and Curtis Weir were recruited on keys and guitar to form a four piece live band.”
